GunnisonRide1

This is a gorgeous, scenic ride down to Silverton.  It is generally Hwy riding...though the Hwy becomes 2 lane and very tight and curvy many times.  The end from Ouray (know as the Switzerland of America) to Silverton is one of the most magnificent stretches of roads in the US.  We will ride right over (and stop at) an enormous waterfall that drops hundreds of feet to the valley below.  Then it is over "Red Mountain Pass" - elevation 11,008 feet.  The plan is to have lunch in Silverton and then head back.  Should some adventurous riders get the urge, they can make a pit stop on the way back at the Ouray Hot Springs.  I have been countless times (including fence hopping at 2am in my youth, but don't tell anyone) and it is great!  All times listed are automatically generated by the mapping program and are probably not accurate.  Pay no attention to them.  I am simply leaving them in as a point of reference.
